You have mentioned some really important information. A lot of development projects fail just because of lack of proper evaluation.

Education has been proved to be one of the most important ways to prevent new HIV infections. It is especially important for young girls, who are one of the highest risk demographics for new infections. Check out the work of Tariro, one organization working toward women's education to improve health and development in Zimbabwe. http://tarirohope.wordpress.com/

Hi Rose, your idea is verry good and your understanding of the mojority of Kenyan N.G.O is also right . So what i would advice is that if you really have the feeling for the orphans then find away of helping them . I also have some good ideas but i can not move them because of the curent situation.

Greetings,
I am pleased with the information from this website.
I am A graduate nurse with more than 15 years of experience in a large city hospital in Kenya.I have a higher diploma in health care program management from where I got knowledge of starting and managing NGOS,OVCs etc
I have a great desire to start an Orphan Vocational Center ( OVC)because of what I have noted about orphans in my community.Real Help is needed.
I have done my home work there are many orphans and equally many briefcase NGOs.The orphans are not helped to the maximum by these NGOs.
Infact, I also take care of some. This has made my desire stronger.

The help I need is a serious and willing partner to work with preferably from the developed countries.
Some ideas on how to go about it since I have a vision.
Regards Rose
